A Brave New Album - Een Heerlijk Nieuw Hoorspel

Het Engelstalige hoofd van dit artikel verwijst naar het quasi gelijknamige boek 'A Brave New World', maar heeft er allerminst voeling mee. Het betreft mijn allernieuwste album 'March Of The Masalians' dat op 29 maart 2015 wordt voorgesteld in De Movri. Het album beschreef ik reeds in een vorig artikel en kan u bestellen via:

Het Nederlandstalige hoofd van dit artikel verwijst echter naar de kersverse show die Masala ontwierp om haar album gestalte te geven. Deze muzikale show, met veel knowhow en 'wow', met vleugjes theater, dans, mime en andere kunstvormen, wordt gepresenteerd op 29 maart 2015 in De Movri. Meer informatie vind u terug op de website van Masala. 

De viool en haar bespeler hebben een prominente rol in de show van Masala, een mix van stijlen/culturen, kunstvormen, emoties, ... 

• Viooltechnieken uit verschillende uithoeken van de wereld (en ook enkele buitenaardse viooltechnieken, want de Masaliaenen zijn tenslotte niet van deze wereld) worden met elkaar gecombineerd: Swingende boogtechniek, Chinese glissando's, Ierse en Oost-Europese ornamenten, scheuren zoals in Rockmuziek, Klassieke vibrato, Bluegrass-grooves, Natuurtonen, ... 
• De violist ontpopt zich daarnaast ook als acteur en mime-speler. Net zoals de andere Masaliaenen neemt hij verschillende instrumenten ter hand en zingt de ziel uit zijn lijf. 

The English head of this article refers to the quasi similar book 'A Brave New World', but has no connection to it. The head concerns my newest album 'March Of The Masalians' that is presented the 29th of March 2015 in De Movri. I described the album in a previous article and one can order it via:

The Dutch head of this article means 'A Ravishing Radio Play' and refers to Masala's show. This musical show, with a lot of knowhow and 'wow', with shades of theatre, dance, mime and other artforms, is presented the 29th of March 2015 in De Movri. More information: www.masalamusic.be . 

The violin and her player have a prominent role in Masala's show, a mix of styles/cultures, artforms, emotions, ... 

• Violintechniques originating from all over the world (and from outer space, 'cause Masalians are after all not from this world) are put together: Swinging bowtechniques, Chinese glissando's, Irish and Eastern-European ornaments, howling as in Rock, Classical vibrato, Bluegrass-grooves, Natural harmonics, ...
• Besides his violin, the player handles other instruments and sings together with other bandmembers of Masala. Repeatedly he changes into an actor or performs the 'art of silence'.
